Deval Gadhvi’s book “Silence Broken” is a heartwarming collection where relatable feelings are penned down. These feelings and thoughts are related to first love, remembering old memories, bitter truths, mistakes made, ignorance from loved ones, broken trust, pain, regrets, taking a stand for oneself, and more.

There’s a story behind many of the poems. In many of the poems, one can feel the pain of the protagonist and her desire to be a free soul, who makes her own life decisions.

In the poem “Why?” the protagonist asks many questions about society not giving chances to women and underestimating them. Love is all about kindness, being loyal, and being able to trust each other. The verses of the poem ‘Love’ beautifully portray this fact. Poems like ‘Sister’ and ‘Brother’ show the protagonist’s love for her siblings, while ‘Miss You Dad’ shows her love for her father, who is no longer alive. Some poems show her dreams and desires for freedom.

Some of my favorite poems are ‘Love’, ‘Miss You Dad’, ‘Came To Rest’, and ‘If you love’.

“They say love needs two bodies. I say, love needs two souls.”

Author Deval has used rhyming verses in her poetry. The best part is that the verses are written in simple language, making it easier for any beginner to pick up this poetry book.

If you are looking for a light poetry book that explores relatable thoughts and feelings, you should read “Silence Broken”.
